Prayers & Praise Wednesday

Please Pray:

I want to ask you all to pray for Daniel's our cousin, Kate and Jason Clayton as they are WAITING to find out when they can bring home this little guy.

How cute is he?!  This is Maddox and he's waiting in Taiwan for his mommy and daddy and big sisters, Madison and Mia, and big brother Mason to finally come and get him.  They have been waiting to hear about when hey are able to travel and finally bring him home.

Please pray the process there will go quickly and smoothly for Jason and Kate.

They are really a special family to us.  When they adopted Mia from Taiwan 2 years ago, the seed of adoption really took root and grew in our hearts.  Kate has been an incredible resource for Daniel and I to talk to and ask questions.  She is a great source of encouragement and not to mention my source for adoption and other cute jewelry!  theadoptshoppe.etsy.com

She is praying for our adoption and I would like to ask all of you to help me pray for the remainder of hers.

The Claytons not long after they brought Mia home from Taiwan.

Let's Praise:

Daniel has finally figured out how to get his Verification of Employement Letter!!  HA!

I know what you're thinking, no Daniel is not slow and it is not that easy!  You would think for our homestudy that when it asks for verification of employment, that all we would need is maybe a paystub, right?

Wrong.

First he was told what information it should include and asked his boss to write it for him.  But his boss said Nissan doesn't allow that (don't ask why).  All of that information is given from a third-party company, where Daniel would have to go and set up an account and give the homestudy agency and OFA a (separate) password to log-on, get the information, and print it off!

Craziness!!  (Are you even still reading this?  I just want to remember the absurd things we had to chase down during our homestudy!)

But then OFA said, sorry that won't work because the company that has that information wants to charge a fee.  First of all, no one in the Congo is going to pay a fee to make sure Daniel has a job!  But they require that information.

Sooo....our case manager at OFA sent Daniel a template that she and her husband used in her adoption in which Daniel just puts in his specific info and gets his boss to sign it.

Copies for the homestudy require salary info, copies for the dossier (paperwork going to the Congo) absolutely cannot have salary info (to reduce chances for corruption on Congo end.)

So praise be, Daniel is getting that information together after running 'round and 'round for the past week.

Who knew that one piece of paper would be so hard to get?!
