Let the Countdown Begin...

Good news!  (Finally!)

You may have seen my posts on facebook about the call from the Embassy in Kinshasa that Daniel got last Wednesday.  They were wanting to verify his email address and told him to expect an email 'very soon.'  We didn't really know what the email was about, although we had our guesses.  And 'very soon' turned into a solid week of waiting for that email.  During that week I got all kinds of awesome things in my head, like the 3-6 month investigation was finished.  Well we got the email today and although it wasn't quite that good, it was good.

They were verifying that our 3-6 month investigation into Selah's orphan status (conducted by the Embassy) has begun.

The investigation period began on July 24th!

So that means we are already almost 2 months in to this 3-6 month wait!  I'm relieved because I was worried they were just now starting the investigation which would set us back a couple of months.

So we still don't know when it will be complete.  It could be on the longer end of that wait.  But it could be on the shorter end and we still have hope that Selah could be home by the end of the year!  We still have hope.

We are in the final stretch of this thing.  After we get word that the investigation is complete we are about a month away from bringing her home.  (Of course we have that pesky waiver to worry about, but one thing at a time.)

Please continue to pray that the investigation goes smoothly and quickly.  And that we get positive results.

Please pray that we can bring Selah home soon.

Now I can breathe a little easier.  For a while anyway.
